The Opposition View - Cambridge United
Following yesterday's 1-1 draw with Cambridge United, here are some views on the game from the U's manager Joe Dunne and a selection of their fans.
"Honesty is all we ask for every week," said Dunne, speaking to the
"At half time we said, we've been in this position before, don't worry, have a go, have a go at them and see what happens."
"By doing that, you sometimes leave yourself open a bit, but sometimes you get the rewards."
"It was honest endeavour against a real top side, a tough side with physicality."
"Akinfenwa does what he does very well and we had to match that today. I thought it was a perfect away performance up until their goal."
"But all the time it's 1-0 you're never in control, and we had a few moments today."
"Their goalkeeper made a good save in the first half so we had chances, and the one we needed to take, we took," said the delighted Cambridge boss.
The Cambridge fans took particular delight in thwarting the Blues.

"Absolute scenes at Adams Park!!! Love the never say die attitude of this lot!! Get in!"
"I think we're gonna sneak the play offs."
"if we can beat Swindon on Saturday we really are in with a shout for seventh place, COYU`s"
"Fantastic. Great to take something off Wycombe for a change."
"Another great comeback against the dirty Wycombe cheats. Well done Joe & the boys. The job must be his now. What a refreshing change to be so proud of the team and manager again after that deluded fraud Derry. If only we had got rid months earlier."
"What was their keeper doing not even moving for our goal? Did he have his view blocked? Think the ref was going to give a foul?"
"Dunne is proving what a lot of people on here thought, we have a good team. Not the best performance against a bunch of cheating scum, but since Dunne took charge they don't know when they are beaten. Great effort again and then to sneak one at the end, brilliant. Already looking forward to the next game."
"Never say die. What a team."
"Best match I've been at for some years. Fans and players gave everything for the cause today against the same old Wycombe sly, cheating, time-wasting tactics. Great mental for Lewis' goal and good interview by Dunne to keep us entertained for 40 minutes while queuing to leave the car park."
"I work with a couple of Wycombe fans. When I mentioned what a dirty cheating scummy team they are they were stunned. Like they couldn't believe what I had just said. They are the most deluded fan base I've ever come across. They don't seem to notice the gamesmanship.
That club is one bad season away from going pop if you ask me. They are only geared up for 1st team success, that`s their business model. One bad season, or Ainsworth leaving for a better job, and that could spell disaster."
"So, after three successive 1-0 defeats at Adams Park, we finally score and nick a point in the process. I couldn`t be happier!
As with so many supposedly "top sides", I was a little disappointed with Wycombe. They were fairly one dimensional and seemed to rely very heavily on lumping the ball in the general direction of Akinfenwa, the archetypal "big man" up front. That said, our approach was little different except we had two "big men" upfront.
Overall, Wycombe will probably think of it as two points lost but - although they were on top for much of the second half - the closest they came to increasing their lead was when Taft managed to slice the ball against his own post... On another day, the ref might have given a foul against Uche in the build-up to the goal, but he was the more determined player and got the ball through to Lewis."
"It was great determined battling from Uche to set up the goal, the sort of thing that lump Akinfenwa does game after game."
"Bunch of horrible sponges Wycombe are, hate them with a passion. I gear myself up knowing how they will play and then it just gets worse. The ref was pathetic and gave some ridiculous decisions. 93rd minute equaliser after 16 minutes of time wasting, couldn't happen to a better team."
Next Game: Barnet v Wycombe - Saturday 17th March - 3.00pm
