Preview: Wycombe Wanderers v Swindon Town

Wycombe Wanderers entertain Swindon Town on Tuesday in their 32nd league game of the season.

The Chairboys banked an excellent point after coming from behind to draw 1-1 at promotion rivals Exeter City on Saturday.

Having broken his duck the week before, there's no stopping Marcus Bean now, and it was he who grabbed the headlines once again with a second-half equaliser.

The result saw Wanderers drop one place to 3rd in the table with 56 points, 10 points more than they had at the same stage last season.

It also ended the Chairboys' 100% league record in 2018, but they remain unbeaten and top of the form guide with 5 wins and 1 draw so far this year.

Tuesday clash with 5th placed Swindon will be another stern test for Wanderers who don't have a great record against the visitors in recent years.

Gareth Ainsworth's side have already lost twice to the Robins this season, once in the league and once in the Football League Trophy.

In fact, Wycombe haven't beaten Swindon in the league for 15 years, Keith Ryan, Dannie Bulman and Craig Faulconbridge the scorers in a 3-0 win at the County Ground on 15th February 2003.

And if that wasn't grim enough, the Chairboys have never beaten the Robins in a league game at Adams Park.

So a few ghosts to be buried there, and here's another, Ainsworth has yet to get the better of opposite number David Flitcroft who is unbeaten in five clashes with the Blues as manager of Bury and Swindon.

The Wycombe boss made just one change to his starting line-up against the Grecians, Tafari Moore returning to the side in place of the suspended Luke O'Nien.

Moore came in at right-back which allowed Dominic Gape to revert to midfield where he gave another impressive performance.

On the injury front, Dan Scarr was forced off after only 16 minutes on Saturday with what looked like a hamstring injury and must be considered highly doubtful.

Scott Kashket is also a concern after being withdrawn from the squad following the warm up in Devon.

O'Nien is likely to come straight back into the side after serving his suspension.

Sido Jombati and Sam Saunders are reportedly close to a return.

Anthony Stewart has missed the last seven weeks with a calf injury and remains sidelined, while Michael Harriman continues his rehabilitation after breaking a leg in September.

Swindon Town banked three precious points with a 1-0 win over promotion rivals Mansfield Town at the County Ground on Saturday.

Matt Taylor scored the goal that ended the Stags' nine-match unbeaten run in the league.

The Robins have won six of their last nine league matches, losing two and drawing one.

They lie 5th in the table with 54 points from 32 games, 2 points less than Wanderers, who also have the comfort of a game in hand.

David Flitcroft's side boast the best away record in the division, having banked 31 points from 16 games on the road.

Flitcroft made two changes to his starting line-up against the Stags.

Matt Preston returned to the side after serving a one-match ban, while Keshi Anderson regained his place having been been rested in the midweek defeat at Accrington.

They replaced James Dunne, who dropped to the bench, and Oliver Lancashire who missed out through injury.

The Robins' boss has no new injury concerns ahead of the midweek trip to Adams Park.

Lancashire will be assessed after missing Saturday`s game with an ankle injury.

Kellan Gordon is suspended following an unsuccessful appeal, while Amine Linganzi remains sidelined with a torn thigh muscle.

Chris Hussey and Donal McDermott aren't expected to be fit until March following hernia surgery.

Dion Conroy has been ruled-out for the rest of the season with a knee ligament injury.
