Preview: Exeter City v Wycombe Wanderers

Wycombe Wanderers travel to Exeter City on Saturday for their 31st league game of the season.

The Chairboys followed up an epic midweek victory at league-leaders Luton with an equally exhilarating 4-3 win over Carlisle United on Saturday.

Down to ten-men early in the second half, and 3-2 behind in the 93rd minute, Wanderers thrilled the Adams Park crowd with two late goals to bank an unlikely looking three points.

And if that wasn't stunning enough, the 96th minute winner was a 20 yard volley from midfielder Marcus Bean who had never scored for the club in 103 previous appearances.

It was a fifth straight league win for The Chairboys who top the form guide with 100% record in 2018.

As a result, Gareth Ainsworth's side remain in 2nd place with 55 points, 9 points more than they had at the same stage last season.

Ainsworth made just one change to his starting line-up against the Cumbrians, with Matt Bloomfield returning to the side at the expense of the injured Tafari Moore.

Otherwise, the Blues boss stuck with the same 18-man squad, which meant there was still no place for loanee Randell Williams.

Ainsworth has no newly reported injury concerns ahead of this weekend's trip to St James Park, but will be without Luke O'Nien who serves a one-match ban following his red card and unsuccessful appeal.

Tafari Moore is likely to return to the team allowing Dominic Gape to take O'Nien's place in midfield.

Sido Jombati and Sam Saunders both remain doubtful.

Anthony Stewart has missed the last six weeks with a calf injury and remains sidelined.

Michael Harriman continues his rehabilitation after breaking a leg in September.

Exeter City were narrowly beaten 1-0 by league-leaders Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.

With 4 wins and 2 defeats in their last 6 games, the Grecians lie 6th in the table with 51 points, 3 points more than they had at the same stage last season.

Paul Tisdale's side are 4 points behind the Chairboys, but do have a game in hand.

Exeter boast the best home-record in the division on a points-per-game basis, with 11 wins, 3 defeats and no draws whatsoever at St James Park.

Tisdale made five changes to his starting line-up against the Hatters.

Teenager Jordan Storey was handed his full league debut in the centre of defence, while loanees Kane Wilson and Kyle Edwards were recalled to the side as were Danny Seaborne and Hiram Boateng.

They replaced Pierce Sweeney and Lee Holmes who both dropped to the bench, and Craig Woodman, Troy Archibald-Henville and Ryan Harley who all missed out through injury.

Teenagers Alex Byrne and Matt Jay were on the bench but there was no place for loanee Ryan Loft.

Tisdale has a whole host of injury concerns ahead of this weekend's clash with the Chairboys.

Woodman, Archibald-Henville and Harley will be assessed, while Jordan Moore-Taylor (hip flexor) and Troy Brown (knee) won't be fit for another week or two.

Luke Croll has missed four months with a groin injury and remains sidelined. Ryan Brunt hasn't played since March 2016 after suffering an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury and won't be involved.
