Preview: Crewe Alexandra v Wycombe Wanderers

Wycombe Wanderers travel to Crewe Alexandra on Saturday for their 28th league game of the season.

The Chairboys claimed all three points with a 3-1 win over old rivals Colchester United at Adams Park on Saturday.

Goals from Adebayo Akinfenwa, Paris Cowan-Hall and Luke O`Nien were enough to take Wanderers up to 4th in the table, level on points with 3rd placed Accrington Stanley.

Gareth Ainsworth's side have won 13, drawn 7 and lost 7 of their 27 league matches to bank 46 points, 3 points more than they had at the same stage last season.

Ainsworth made four changes to his starting line-up against the U's.

Tafari Moore and Nathan McGinley were both handed full league debuts after signing on loan for the rest of the season while Paris Cowan-Hall and Craig Mackail-Smith were both recalled to the side.

They replaced Marcus Bean and Nathan Tyson who both dropped to the bench, and Adam El-Abd and Nick Freeman who both missed out through injury.

Ainsworth has a host of injury concerns ahead of this weekend's trip to Gresty Road.

Paris Cowan-Hall and Sam Saunders were both forced off at the weekend.

Nick freeman, Adam El-Abd and Will de Havilland are all major doubts.

Anthony Stewart (calf) and Sido Jombati (knee) are both expected to be sidelined for quite some time.

Michael Harriman continues his rehabilitation after breaking a leg in September.

Crewe Alexandra were beaten 1-0 by Carlisle United at Brunton Park on Saturday.

The Railwaymen have lost 16, won 9 and drawn just 2 of their 27 league matches, and lie 20th in the table with 29 points, one point more than they had at the same stage last season.

Only Forest Green Rovers, Chesterfield and Yeovil have conceded more than the 42 league goals shipped by David Artell`s side.

Earlier today, the Railwaymen sold midfielder George Cooper to Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee.

Artell made three changes to his starting line-up against the Cumbrians.

Paul Green was handed his full league debut after signing on loan from Oldham, Eddie Nolan returned to the side after recovering from a calf strain, and Jordan Bowery was also handed a recall.

They replaced Chris Porter, who missed out through injury, Perry Ng who was suspended, and Conor Grant who returned to parent club Everton following the end of his loan spell.

Ryan Wintle was an unused substitute after recovering from more than three weeks out with a leg fracture.

Artell has no new injury concerns ahead of this weekend's clash with the Chairboys.

Porter will be hoping to return from an ankle injury.

Ng serves the second of a four-match ban.

George Ray (back fracture) featured in two under-23 matches last week but has missed nine months and won't be risked.

James Jones could miss the whole season after suffering a medial ligament injury in training having just returned from a pelvic injury.
