The Opposition View - Newport County
Following yesterday's 2-0 win over Newport County, here are some views on the game from the Exiles' manager Michael Flynn and a selection of their fans.
"When you start as badly as we did for the first 20 minutes, it's tough against a strong Wycombe team," said Flynn, speaking to the South Wales Argus
"The two goals we conceded weren't good enough and that's what cost us the game."
"There wasn't two goals difference in that game. I thought we were the better team in the middle period," he claimed.
"We got in some good positions and Labadie hit the bar out of nothing. It wasn't a 2-0 game but if you concede two poor goals like that, then it's going to be tough to win"
Remarkably, Flynn was also upset at the sending off of Josh Labadie, who spent much of the match kicking Wycombe players.
"I thought it was a disgusting decision," said the Newport boss.
"It was absolutely awful. I spoke to the referee and said 'I know what you're going to say, you're going to tell me it's persistent fouling."
"But he said no, which is even more bizarre. He said Labadie looked at him intentionally and fouled him intentionally."
"The referee hasn't cost us the game, let`s be clear about that."
"But he has given some scandalous decisions," said Flynn, who would have lost 3-0 if the ref hadn't blown for time just as Wanderers scored a third.
The Newport fans weren't on the same page as their manager.

"Stop blaming the ref Flynn. Instead you should be asking Labadie what the bloody hell he's playing at. Nine fouls in one game and four of them after he picked up the first yellow. Is he suicidal or something? He might be a good goal scorer but he's a liability with the foul play."
"Our discipline needs sorting. Labadie not much of an example today, should have behaved himself at the end, he knows O`Brien is out and Rigg injured."
"What's the matter with the guy. He was warned two minutes earlier. Absolute fool."
"He just wanted new year off."

"If I was the Gaffer I would make whoever is sent off travel with the squad. That would stop any of that nonsense."

"County aren't dirty or lacking discipline. Labadie is our one player that plays on the edge and is always likely to pick up cards. Silly in the 91st minute though. Mike needs to stop blaming refs and get on with it. League Two refs are by definition not the best. Moaning about them just gives players excuses."
"After Joe Day's over confident comments regarding promotion it was inevitable that we would lose. Wycombe were worthy winners on the day, so we will just have to battle away and hope for a better result next time."
"My biggest concern was that at 0-1, second half, we were on top with the starting formation. We were creating and looking the likeliest to score. The substitutions, changed the game and completely destroyed any momentum we had."
"The problem was we couldn't maintain any momentum. It was all in fits and starts. We needed to make a change to test their centre backs but don`t have a natural target man to give us something different. Nouble didn't play well but it`s blatantly obvious we ask him to do too much."
"Our keeper says we`re strong promotion challengers and the manager says we need to stay disciplined over Xmas. So two red cards and a defeat to promotion rivals. The joke is wearing thin now."
"Nouble needs a rest! Totally ineffective in the last three games. I want a quid for every game he has flattered to deceive!"

"Hayes should be fit now after six weeks training. He should start against Exeter."
