Preview: Wycombe Wanderers v Yeovil Town

Wycombe Wanderers entertain Yeovil Town on Saturday in their 20th league game of the season.

The Chairboys lost a third consecutive away game in the league at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday.

Mark Hughes scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute following some slapdash defending from Gareth Ainsworth's side.

Wanderers dropped out of the play-off places as a result and now lie 8th in the table with 30 points.

At the same stage last season, they were 6th with 28 points.

Next up for the Chairboys are Yeovil who won only three away games last season and have the worst away-record again this season, with only 1 win and 4 points from a possible 27 on the road.

On paper, it's a great chance to return to winning ways, but Yeovil have proved to be something of a bogey team for the Chairboys in recent years.

Since joining the football league, Wanderers have beaten the Somerset outfit only once in 11 attempts, with the Glovers winning on 7 occasions.

At Adams Park the record is particularly grim, with 3 wins for Yeovil, 2 draws and a complete blank for Wycombe who have also conceded 9 goals in the process.

But with only Luton having bagged more goals than Wycombe this season, and only Forest Green having conceded more than Yeovil, Wanderers' free-scoring forwards should be eyeing this one with relish.

Ainsworth made just one change to his starting line-up in midweek.

Sido Jombati was recalled at right-back in place of Dom Gape who was absent for personal reasons. Sam Saunders was also ruled-out through illness which left Ainsworth with just five substitutes.

Craig Mackail-Smith will be assessed after he was subbed at half-time on Tuesday. Saunders will hopefully have recovered from his illness but Gape's availability is unknown.

Skipper Adam El-Abd received his fifth yellow card of the season at the Crown Ground and is therefore suspended on Saturday.

Scott Kashket (pelvis), Josh Umerah (ankle surgery) and Nathan Tyson (knee ligament) are all due to return before Christmas.

Michael Harriman faces another two to three months on the sidelines after breaking his leg.

Yeovil claimed a share of the spoils after coming from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Notts County on Tuesday.

The Glovers went into the game on the back of a 2-1 home defeat to Swindon Town at the weekend.

Darren Way's side have won 5, drawn 5 and lost 9 of their 19 league matches, and lie 18th in the table with 20 points, 8 fewer than they had at the same stage last season.

Way made two changes to his starting line-up against the Magpies in midweek.

Francois Zoko and Fela Olomola were both handed recalls to the side after completing three-match bans. They replaced Jake Gray and Rhys Browne, who both dropped to the bench.

The Glovers boss could only name six substitutes with Alefe Santos missing out through injury and teenager Paulius Golubickas left out of the squad.

Way has no new injury concerns ahead of this weekend's trip to Adams Park but will be without loanee Sid Nelson who serves the first of a three-match ban following his dismissal in midweek.

Bevis Mugabi serves the last of a three-match ban whilst Ryan Dickson is unlikely to be risked following a month out with a concussion.

Daniel Alfei is recovering from surgery on an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury and will miss the rest of the season.
