Preview: Accrington Stanley v Wycombe Wanderers

Wycombe Wanderers travel to Accrington Stanley on Tuesday for their 19th league game of the season.

The Chairboys claimed all three points with an emphatic 4-0 win over Crawley Town at Adams Park on Saturday.

It was a superb way to end a run of five league games without a victory, Eberechi Eze scoring a sensational opener, before Craig Mackail-Smith took centre stage with a stunning 11 minute hat-trick.

Adebayo Akinfenwa shrugged off the best laid plans of the Crawley defence to contribute three assists in a performance that demonstrated what a cultured player he is with the ball at his feet.

To cap a halcyon day, Wanderers even kept a clean sheet, a welcome occurrence even if Harry Kewell's side are the lowest goal-scorers in the bottom two divisions.

The Accrington attack is likely to provide a sterner test, John Coleman's side having failed to score only twice in the league and having bagged 44 goals in all competitions spread across 15 different goal-scorers.

With Stanley in the final automatic promotion place just 4 points ahead of Wanderers, this would be a great game to win for the Chairboys and a costly one to lose in the context of a top-three challenge.

Interestingly, seven of the last eight meetings between the two sides have ended in a draw.

Blues' boss Gareth Ainsworth made four changes to his starting line-up against the Red Devils on Saturday.

Adam El-Abd, Luke O'Nien, Matt Bloomfield and Paris Cowan-Hall were all handed recalls to the side in place of Dan Scarr, Marcus Bean, Nick Freeman and Sam Saunders who all dropped to the bench.

Ainsworth has reported no new injury concerns ahead of Tuesday's trip to the Crown Ground.

He has recently said that Scott Kashket (pelvis), Josh Umerah (ankle surgery) and Nathan Tyson (knee ligament damage) could all return to action before Christmas.

Michael Harriman however, faces another two to three months on the sidelines after breaking his leg.

Accrington Stanley grabbed a late equaliser to draw 1-1 at home to Newport County on Saturday.

The Reds went into the game on the back of a shock 4-3 penalty shoot-out defeat at home to Guiseley in the FA Cup.

John Coleman's side have won 10, drawn 4 and lost 4 of their 18 league matches, to lie 3rd in the table with 34 points, 14 more than they had at the same stage last season

Coleman made two changes to his starting line-up against the Exiles.

Jordan Clark made a welcome return to the side after resting a tight groin in midweek. Scott Brown was also handed a recall.

Erico Sousa and Seamus Conneely both missed out through injury, while teenagers Zeyn Mohamed and Niall Watson were both handed rare places on the bench.

The Stanley boss has no new injury concerns ahead of Tuesday's clash with the Chairboys.

Sousa is struggling with a knock picked up in the defeat to Guiseley, and he and Conneely will be assessed before the game.

The Reds currently have eight players on loan and can only name five in any matchday squad. Meanwhile Tom Lisbon-Dallison has returned to play for parent club Brighton & Hove Albion U21s and isn't expected to be involved.
