Preview: Wycombe Wanderers v Exeter City

Wycombe Wanderers entertain Exeter City on Saturday in their 13th league game of the season.

The Chairboys claimed all three points with a 3-1 win over Cambridge United at the Abbey Stadium last weekend.

It was a fourth consecutive victory for Wanderers who climbed to 4th in the table, having won 7, drawn 3 and lost 2 of their opening 12 league games.

Saturday`s win was notable for two stunning goals from Eberechi Eze and a decisive third from Josh Umerah after United had pulled one back from the spot.

The Blues remain unbeaten on the road and now boast the best away record in the division.

Wanderers have also scored more league goals than any side in the top four divisions of English football.

Next up are league leaders Exeter who have a poor record at Adams Park with only one win in nine visits.

The Grecians are however generally strong on the road and boasted the second best away record in the division last season with 42 points.

Blues' boss Gareth Ainsworth made just one change to his starting line-up on Saturday with Sido Jombati replacing the injured Michael Harriman.

Harriman suffered a broken leg in training last week and is likely to face at least four months out.

There was another blow for Wycombe when in-form forward Nathan Tyson was stretchered off with knee ligament damage against the U`s. He is expected to be missing for a few months.

Luke O'Nien is also currently sidelined with a knee ligament injury

Matt Bloomfield and Paris Cowan-Hall are believed to be fit enough to return to the squad if selected.

Danny Rowe hasn't been involved since mid-August for personal reasons and isn't expected to return this weekend.

No timescale has been set for Scott Kashket's return from a hip / groin injury.

Exeter City claimed all three points with a narrow 1-0 win at Carlisle United on Saturday.

The Grecians have now won 9, drawn 1 and lost 2 of their 12 league games and have climbed back to the top of the table.

Manager Paul Tisdale made two changes to the starting line-up following their 4-1 home win over Morecambe the previous week.

Hiram Boateng was handed his full league debut after signing a permanent deal from Crystal Palace in August.

Lee Holmes made a welcome return to the side after missing the last two games with a tight hamstring.

Dean Moxey and Jordan Tillson both dropped to the bench, while loanee Kyle Wilson was left out of the 18-man squad altogether.

Luke Croll will be assessed ahead of this weekend's clash with the Chairboys after being forced off at the weekend.

Jordan Moore-Taylor could be involved after making a quicker-than-expected recovering from a knee injury.

Ryan Harley (ankle ligament damage) is making a slow recovery and remains sidelined.

Robbie Simpson (ankle) and Ryan Brunt (knee) are still recovering from long-term injuries.

The Man In The Middle

Saturday's referee is Robert Jones from Merseyside who is enjoying his second season on the National List of Referees.

Last season he took charge of two games at Adams Park, a 1-1 draw with Yeovil and a 1-0 defeat to Mansfield.

Exeter have had even less luck with Mr Jones in charge, losing to Crewe and Cambridge last season, and suffering a 2-0 defeat at Coventry just three weeks ago.

During the current campaign he's issued 2 red and 31 yellow cards in 12 outings.
