Preview: Wycombe Wanderers v Barnet

Wycombe Wanderers entertain Barnet on Saturday in their 11th league game of the season.

The Chairboys made it two wins in a row with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday.

2-1 down after 88 minutes, a Michael Harriman bullet levelled the match before Nathan Tyson almost burst the net with a magnificent 90th minute winner.

It was stirring stuff, and Adams Park was rocking as the crowd celebrated Wanderers doing to the Railwaymen what Luton had done to them just ten days earlier.

The better team by far on the night, the Chairboys will be keen to eradicate the defensive lapses that allowed Crewe to almost pinch the points.

Apart from Tyson capping his excellent second-half display with the winner, there were stand out performances from midfielders Eberechi Eze and Marcus Bean.

With 5 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats so far this season, Wanderers lie 8th in the table with 18 points, just 2 points below 3rd placed Accrington Stanley.

Manager Gareth Ainsworth made two changes to his starting line-up against the U's.

Adam El-Abd and Sam Saunders returned to the side, with Anthony Stewart dropping to the bench and Luke O'Nien missing out through injury.

Dominic Gape and Josh Umerah were both on the bench after missing the trip to Colchester.

Dan Scarr went off injured against the Railwaymen, and he joins O'Nien, Paris Cowan-Hall and Matt Bloomfield on the doubtful list.

Danny Rowe hasn't been involved since mid-August for personal reasons and is unlikely to feature on Saturday.

No timescale has been set for the return of Scott Kashket.

Barnet crashed to another defeat when they lost 2-1 at Lincoln City on Tuesday.

It was a second consecutive defeat for the Bees, who have collected only a single point from the last possible 12.

They currently lie 15th in the table having have lost 5, won 3 and drawn 2 of their opening 10 league matches.

Head coach Rossi Eames made two changes to his starting line-up against the Imps in midweek.

Simeon Akinola was handed a recall against the side he had hoped to join on transfer deadline day before the deal collapsed.

Wes Fonguck was also recalled with Andre Blackman and Jack Taylor dropping to the bench in a switch to a 4-5-1 formation.

Ricardo Santos was named on the bench after recovering from a dead leg.

Eames has no new injury concerns ahead of the trip to Adams Park.

John Akinde faces five to six weeks on the sidelines after tearing his hamstring.

Jamie Stephens and Curtis Weston have been ruled-out with knee injuries.

Richard Brindley won't be fit until the new year after fracturing his foot.

Elliot Johnson and Dave Tarpey are both unlikely to play again this season after suffering anterior cruciate knee ligament damage.
