Tough start for the Blues


Wycombe Wanderers have been given a tough start to next season's league campaign.

The opening fixture on 9th August is away at Newport County who did the double over Gareth Ainsworth's men last season.

The next three games are against Carlisle, Tranmere and Stevenage who were all competing in League One last season.

August is rounded off with a trip to York who recently took part in the League Two play-offs, losing to eventual winners Fleetwood Town.

There are seven Tuesday evening fixtures, a home game against Accrington and home & away clashes with Tranmere, Exeter and Plymouth.

A bumper crowd will be expected for the home game against Luton Town on Boxing Day, and it will help the coffers that Portsmouth visit Adams Park on a Saturday afternoon in January rather than a Tuesday evening like last year.

The M40 derbies against Oxford United take place on 1st November at the Kassam Stadium and 4th April at Adams Park.

The final game of the season is away at Northampton on 2nd May.
