Following yesterday's hard fought win at ten man Bristol Rovers, here are some comments from the Pirates' manager John Ward and a few of their supporters.
Ward bemoaned the red card decision that saw David Clarkson sent from the field, complaining 'I'm frustrated for the team and I'm frustrated for the supporters because they've really rallied together today.'
'We cannot grumble about the effort shown from everyone concerned and we can't try any harder in that area.'
Ward's view of the red card was as follows: 'Harsh at the time but I haven't seen it again. There's no point me looking at it again, he`s allowed the linesman to make the decision for him and we'll have to do without David for the next three games. You get a decision that goes against you then it's a tough job.'
'We haven`t picked up the rebound that's come off Steve (Mildenhall). We were hoping for one chance at the other end but it's harsh to concede as a lot of hard work went in to get at least something from the game. It's pretty lonely in a 4-4-1 shape and there wasn't a lot of time to change it to go gung-ho. I can't grumble about the effort that everyone's put in.`
The Bristol Rovers fans were resigned to depression after another defeat saw them slide further into the mire, and the Pirates' supporters weren't happy with the tactics their manager employed throughout.

Raleigh said: 'Whilst I think our defensive efforts maybe deserved a point, a goal was inevitable because we sat back so much'.
Socrates the Pirate said: 'Ward`s a top bloke but he's so negative in his approach. Being the home side I felt we had an advantage today, then being down to 10 men I thought pretty much levelled it. Ward set them out like we were San Marino playing Germany'.
Paulrandallstakeaway said: 'Unfortunately it was only a matter of time with all their possession that we would concede and although Mildy made a great stop from Pittman the ball fell kindly to the other sub and he couldn't miss from close range. As others have said the crowd were right behind the team after Clarky's stupid sending off and Wycombe were not great but unfortunately we seem to play within ourselves and players spend more time worrying about the defensive aspects of their game than playing with tempo and attacking flair'.
Blackthorn gas said: 'After Clarkson went off it was like we were the away side today. Sat back whilst they were all lining up to shoot. Despite some good defensive work the goal was inevitable in the end'.
Mrbagsy79 said: 'Thought Wycombe were the worst side I've seen this season and they were there for the taking. Doesn't say much about us though, think it may be time for Ward to step aside'.
CharlieCrews said: 'Textbook way to play against ten men from Wycombe today. Kept moving the ball and waiting for openings and weren`t scared to shoot'.
BishopstonBRFC said: 'We may have been down to 10 men but we were allowing them to get 20 yards into our half before putting any pressure on. Every man has to step up when you're a man down but that didn't happen'.
Hammer-Time 2012 said: 'We have had 5 shots with none on target. Wycombe have had 19 shots with 5 on target! Can`t believe how bad things are getting'.
Staffordshiregas said: 'Wycombe played neat constructive football and deserved their win. We fought hard but our passing game is non-existent'.
Their views on the red card were as follows...
Gas Go Marching In said: 'O'Toole got fouled in the back right before it. Joke officiating again'.
Cookieman said: 'As usual the Wycombe player went down like he had been shot, bloody cheats. But Clarkson was stupid enough to give the ref a reason to send him off. A bit confused by the lino, why didn't he put his flag up because it was his decision to send Clarkson off because the ref didn't see it? The ref only went over to the lino when the cheats started complaining'.
Bristol Rovers said: 'Think most opposition players would go down when hit full in the face by an elbow, Clarkson let everybody down today, it's almost as if he was looking to be sent off'.
Wu-Tang-Killer-Bees said: 'Swung an arm for no reason, plonker'.
BishopstonBRFC said: 'Was a definite red regardless of what went on before...just a flailing arm that didn't give the ref any option'.
ChrisBRFC said: 'Clarkson`s red card was clear for me, could see him swing his elbow at the Wycombe player from the other side of the ground. Called it before the ref even spoke to the linesman'.
Staffordshiregas said: 'Clarkson's sending off was correct (he let us down with that action)'.
