Rovers game rescheduled

Wycombe Wanderers and Bristol Rovers will replay their abandoned league game on Tuesday 27th November at 7.45pm.

Rovers were winning 3-1 when a freak storm caused the original game to be abandoned after 66 minutes for health & safety reasons.

The Pirates were unhappy with the decision and complained to the Football League who investigated the matter before issuing the following statement...

"Having considered the relevant submissions from all parties, the Football League is satisfied that, in very difficult circumstances, the match referee took the appropriate action by initially suspending and then abandoning the match following advice from the safety officer.
The League fully supports the referee in his actions and, in line with its regulations, requires that the match be replayed in full and at the earliest reasonable opportunity."
