Woeful Wycombe thumped by Brentford

Wycombe 1 (Dean og 58) Brentford 4 (Donaldson 37, Basey og 42, Dallas 70, O'Connor 77)

The Blues finished their pre-season campaign with a truly horrendous performance.

Thoroughly outclassed from first whistle to last, the result flattered Gary Waddock's men who were lucky that Brentford didn't hit double figures.

Shaky at the back, unable to string more than two passes together and totally anonymous in attack, the Blues looked like a pub side playing together for the first time.

It was depressing to watch and it's difficult to see how the Wycombe manager can take any positives from such an inept performance so close to the start of the season.

The Blues now have three days to learn how to defend, pass and shoot before they travel to Watford in the first round of the League Cup.

Wycombe first-half line-up
Bull, McCoy, Doherty, Basey, Dunne, Oli, Spring, Kewley-Graham, Angol, Harris, Beavon

Wycombe second-half line-up
Ingram, McCoy (Scowen 60), Stewart, McKenzie, Basey, Grant, Bloomfield, Lewis, Wood, Harris, Logan
