'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Opposition View - Carlisle

Following yesterday's 1-1 draw with Carlisle United, here are some views on the game from the Cumbrians' manager Greg Abbott and a few of their fans.

"We probably got a bit of our own medicine because we've had a good run of late goals, but this is a tough place at the moment, I think they've gone seven games unbeaten, they're on a really good run," said Abbott.

"It was a scrap, it wasn't a classic, but these are important times for both sets of players. The pitch is a bobbly pitch, it looks alright but it's bobbly. It's lively and they're fighting for their lives."

Commenting on Wycombe's late equaliser, the Carlisle boss said: "We just lost our shape a little bit. Francois got caught on the other side of the pitch and the midfield didn't get the chance to regroup. They have won the first header, which is important, and then it bounces to the lad and he springs onto it well and hits a great shot. It happens, it wasn't pure football, it was just a long punt downfield...but that just shows you that you can never stop concentrating for the whole of the game."

The Carlisle fans took the late equaliser quite well.

"I would've taken a point at the start of the game but it's just annoying to mess it up. Guess we've had our fair share of late equalisers and winners so can't complain.'

"I'm disappointed but will take a point from a game we never really got into and weren't at the races. It's annoying to concede so late, and from what I saw, Tawio took a punch and the Wycombe player should have been sent off, and we should have had a penalty with their man being sent off, but all in all, a point will do.'

"What actually constitutes a foul on Lee Miller? Yet again a match where he gets pushed and pulled all over the place and gets hardly any fouls given. You would struggle to see a clearer foul going into stoppage time than when their full back ran straight into him. The ball then runs through to their keeper and 10 seconds later it's in the back of our net!'

"That's the price you pay for spending 90 minutes throwing yourself to the floor and trying to con referees. Great player but he's a cheat.'

"Crap match, crap performance. Wycombe probably shaded it, but the equaliser shouldn't have stood. A clear foul on Miller was waved away (1 of many assaults on Miller waved away by the useless ******** of a ref), Wycombe break up the other end and score. We also should've had a penalty for a push on Noble. We didn't deserve to win, but annoying to lose a goal in that manner.'

"Stuart Lewis scored their equaliser, and of course it's his first goal of the season! Trust us!'
