Blues borrow a young defender from Sunderland

Wycombe Wanderers have signed central-defender Louis Laing on-loan from Martin O'Neill's Sunderland.

The 18 year-old has represented England from U16 to U19 level and will remain at Adams Park until 14th February.

Blues' boss Gary Waddock told wwfc.com: "Louis will be a good addition to the group and I'm really pleased to have him on board. We've seen him play a number of times and I know there were some Championship clubs looking at him too."

Laing said: "It will be a great experience for me to play in the first team and I hope I can help the team get out of this rough patch. I see myself as someone who can play the ball out from the back but I can defend as well."

The Blues currently have the worst defensive record in league one with 49 goals conceded in 26 games.
