Wycombe Wanderers entertain Bury on Saturday in their 4th league game of the season.
The league table currently shows Wycombe in 7th place with 5 points and Bury in 12th spot with 4 points.
At the end of last season both clubs gained automatic promotion from League Two, the Shakers finishing second behind champions Chesterfield and the Blues clinching third spot on the final day of the campaign.
On route to promotion, the Blues won both games against the Shakers and their crucial 3-1 victory at Gigg Lane in the penultimate game of the season will live long in the memory of those who travelled north to witness it.
Both sides have made a solid start to life at a higher level, and both celebrated their first league-victory of the season on Tuesday evening, Wycombe winning 3-1 at Orient and the Shakers beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at Gigg Lane.
The two sides have also progressed to the second-round of the Carling Cup. Wycombe beat old-rivals Colchester United on penalties to earn a home tie against Nottingham Forest, while the Shakers impressively dismissed Coventry City to land a meeting with Leicester City at Gigg Lane.
Against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek, the Bury side contained six of the players who started the game against Wycombe at the end of last season, while the Blues' line-up at Orient featured seven.
The Shakers have lost the services of two key performers from last season, former Manchester United loanee Nicky Ajose who now plays for Peterborough United, and Kyle Bennett who turned down a new contract in favour of a move to Doncaster Rovers.
New arrivals at Gigg Lane include loanee strikers Kudos Oyenuga from Spurs and Mark Cullen from Hull, midfielder Patrick Cregg from St Mirren and defender Mark Hughes from North Queensland Fury.
Wycombe are currently on an unbeaten run of 14 games in all competitions (13 in the league), and have beaten Bury on the last five occasions the two sides have clashed at Adams Park.
The Blues' midfield dynamo Stuart Lewis made his comeback from illness in a practise match against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, but young striker Matt McClure will be out of action for several months.
Both sides will view this game as a good opportunity to collect all three points. The Shakers will be full of confidence after taking the scalps of Coventry and Wednesday in recent weeks, but if the Blues compete with the same energy and determination they showed against Orient, there's every chance of them building on what's already been a useful start to the season.
