Preview: Wycombe Wanderers v Lincoln City

The league table currently shows Wycombe in 6th place with 21 points and Lincoln in 21st spot with 12 points.

Lincoln's Away Record is...............Won 1 - Drawn 0 - Lost 5

Wycombe's Home Record is..........Won 2 - Drawn 2 - Lost 2

Whisper it softly, but Wycombe are in great form. They've won five of their last six games in all competitions to raise themselves to within touching distance of the top three, and on top of that, have reached the regional quarter finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at the expense of old rivals Colchester United.

It's not all rosy though. While the travelling Wycombe support have been rewarded with a series of superb results, the vast majority of fans who only watch the Blues in action at Adams Park could be forgiven for feeling a little short-changed in comparison.

Unbeaten away from home in all competitions, Wycombe were the first side to win at Stevenage, Colchester, Burton and most recently Rotherham. Add to that, draws at Stockport, Northampton, Accrington and Aldershot and you have the sort of away record champions are made of.

Results on their own turf however, haven't been so good. Only bottom club Hereford and free-falling Torquay United have collected fewer than the five points Wycombe have garnered in their last five home games. The Chairboys have also conceded two goals in each of their last four outings at Adams Park - a home record more suited to relegation candidates than promotion hopefuls.

It seems that Wycombe's counter-attacking style away from home is proving more effective than their efforts to break down stubborn opposition at Adams Park - a situation manager Gary Waddock will be keen to change starting with Saturday's game at home to Lincoln City.

The Imps arrive at Adams Park having recently appointed a new manager in the shape of former Southend boss Steve Tilson. Their previous manager Chris Sutton left the club in late September and coach Scott Lindsey took over in a caretaker capacity until Tilson handled affairs for the first time in last weekend's goalless draw at home to Stockport County.

The new-manager factor shouldn't be underestimated, but even with a fresh spring in their step, Lincoln should still be leaving Adams Park empty handed if the Blues play as well as they have been in recent weeks.

Manager Gary Waddock is likely to name an unchanged starting eleven for the sixth consecutive league game as long as Matt Bloomfield recovers from the slight hamstring problem which saw him substituted as a precaution in Saturday's game against Rotherham.
