Preview: Stevenage v Wycombe Wanderers

Wycombe Wanderers travel to Stevenage on Saturday for their 10th league game of the season.

The league table currently shows Wycombe in 9th place with 12 points and Stevenage in 7th spot with 13 points.

Stevenage Home Record......Won 1...Drawn 3...Lost 0

Wycombe Away Record........Won 0...Drawn 4...Lost 0

Having scored six goals and conceded four in the last two games, Wycombe Wanderers are finally posting the sort of scorelines everyone expected to see under attack-minded manager Gary Waddock.

A stoppage-time equaliser to earn a 2-2 draw with Shrewsbury and an entertaining 4-2 victory over Barnet have propelled the Blues to within one point of the play-offs and six points of the automatic promotion places with four-fifths of the season still to play.

The Barnet win was the Chairboys' first since the opening day of the season, and they will now set their sights on beating league newcomers Stevenage to record their first victory away from Adams Park.

Waddock told his club's official website: "The players showed a lot of desire, commitment and determination to get the win we needed on Tuesday. Now we have to build on the performance at Stevenage."

Boro have made a fine start to their first season in the Football League and come into Saturday's game on the back of two consecutive away wins.

Their on-loan striker Chris Holroyd is likely to make his home debut having scored four goals in his first two appearances for the club.

Former Wycombe midfielder John Mousinho now plies his trade at Broadhall Way, and his physical presence and energetic style of play typify what the Blues can expect from Boro.
