Murtagh signs in as Woodman checks out

Wycombe Wanderers have today signed 21 year-old midfielder Kieran Murtagh on a free transfer, while parting company with left-back Craig Woodman who joins Brentford for an undisclosed fee.

Murtagh arrives at Adams Park on a one-year contract having turned down the offer of a new deal at Yeovil Town where he made 59 first-team appearances for the Glovers after joining them from Fisher Athletic in November 2007.

A product of Charlton Athletic's youth system, Murtagh is described as "attack minded and technically very good," by Wycombe manager Gary Waddock.

Speaking to his club's official website, Waddock added: "If he can reach anywhere near his full potential here, then he'll be a valuable asset to the squad."

Craig Woodman joined Wycombe three years ago from Bristol City and made 131 appearances for the Chairboys in all competitions.

He rarely missed a game and his calm consistency earned him the Players' Player of the year award in both 2008/09 and 09/10.

Woodman joins the Bees on a three-year contract and leaves Adams Park with everyone wishing him well for the future.
