Striker Strevens Joins The Blues

Wycombe Wanderers have clinched their second signing of the day with the arrival of 30 year-old Brentford striker Ben Strevens on a two-year contract.

Strevens scored 34 goals in 111 league appearances for Dagenham & Redbridge before moving to Griffin Park last summer, despite the efforts of former Wycombe manager Peter Taylor to bring him to Adams Park.

His Brentford career got off to a bad start when he broke his leg in pre-season training, but Strevens eventually scored 6 goals in 25 league appearances for the Bees, including 2 goals in his final four games of the season.

Chairboys' manager Gary Waddock told wwfc.com: "He's a proven goalscorer at this level, which is something we've been looking for. He knows where the goal is and the way we play will hopefully see us create a lot of opportunities for him."

Strevens said: "As soon as Wycombe were interested it was definitely one of my preferred options."
