The good news that Wycombe Wanderers fans had been waiting to hear finally arrived this afternoon when the club announced that Kevin Betsy has agreed to sign a new two-year contract.
The 32 year-old winger has made over 120 appearances for the club during his two spells at Adams Park, the first of which saw Wycombe reach the semi-final of the Carling Cup shortly before he was sold to Championship side Bristol City.
As well as tormenting full backs on either wing, the versatile Betsy can also play up-front or in central midfield and has also tried his hand at right back on a number of occasions.
King Kev's new contract ensures that he will continue to entertain Wycombe fans until at least 2012.
Today's news also means that the midfield quartet of Betsy, Ainsworth, Bloomfield and Montrose who performed so well for Wycombe in the final six games of last season, will all remain with the club for next season's promotion challenge.
All we need now is a decent goalkeeper, a few solid defenders and a couple of prolific goalscorers!
