Today's 2-2 draw with Swindon has left Wycombe 5 points adrift of safety with 2 games still to play.
Survival is still possible, but only if the Chairboys win both their remaining games and results elsewhere go in their favour.
The most plausible route to safety is for Wycombe to beat both Orient and Gillingham, while the Gills lose to Southampton next Saturday and Tranmere lose one of their remaining games against Millwall and Stockport.
Should Gillingham draw with Southampton, it's still possible, but the Chairboys would probably need to beat them by a three-goal margin on the final day of the season to survive on goal difference / goals scored.
There are other scenarios but they're even less likely.
Here are the remaining fixtures that matter to Wycombe......
Orient - 48 Points (Goal Difference - 11)
Wycombe (H)
Colchester (A)
Exeter - 47 points (Goal Difference - 13)
