'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Opposition View

Following Wycombe's epic 3-0 win at Tranmere, here are some views on the game from Rovers manager Les Parry and a few of their fans.

Parry tore into his team.

"I was annoyed that they didn't show any guts," he told his club's official website.

"The fact that some of them miscontrolled the ball, mishit a pass or didn't hit the target - none of that is intentional. But you've got to draw the line when nobody shows any guts. Every one of them has to take a look at themselves."

"It all comes back to the first 15 minutes. It was like a testimonial game and we didn't impose ourselves," said Parry, adding that he was disappointed at how early the home crowd turned on their players.

The Rovers' fans were shell-shocked and angry.

'We were so poor it was embarrassing. To be outplayed by the team second from bottom says it all. No pride, no passion, poor tactics and no skill. Relegation is a certainty.'

'One of the worst Tranmere performances I have ever had the misfortune to witness. We made a very poor Wycombe team look like Brazil.'

'We backed off and let them play the game they wanted to. Why didn't we get in their faces and close them down.'

'Wycombe not only outplayed us, they showed passion. They looked like they are doing their best to get out of this mess. We on the other hand appeared to be going through the motions. It was embarrassing, it really was.'

'When Wycombe raided they usually had four men in the box. Our attacks were based on long balls into space where there were plenty of defenders but very few forwards. We were always second best against a team that looks certain to go down. Outplayed, out-thought and lacking any kind of creativity.'

'We made Wycombe look good, but at least they showed spirit, desire and fight. They said before the game they were going all out to win. They turned up, got in our faces and like a whipped pup, we sat there and did **** all about it! Well played Wycombe though. They were the better team for 90 minutes and showed they haven't given up yet.'
