Brentford recall Alan Bennett


Brentford have recalled defender Alan Bennett from his loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers.

The centre-half was due to return to Griffin Park tomorrow anyway but the Chairboys had hoped to extend his loan for a further month.

That hope evaporated when Ipswich Town recalled defender Tommy Smith from his loan-spell at Brentford and Bees' manager Andy Scott immediately reacted by bringing Bennett back to Griffin Park.

While with Wycombe, Bennett made five starts, was on the losing side only once and helped the Chairboys' defence keep three clean sheets.
