A strong Wycombe Wanderers reserve side was beaten 2-1 by Ipswich Town at York Road this evening.
The Chairboys lined up in a 4-4-2 formation as follows:
Shearer
Green Cox Hunt Mayer (Cobb 45)
Federico Bloomfield Montrose (Belcher 88) Spence
Beavon Harris
Two fierce shots from Stuart Beavon and a long range effort from Stuart Green tested former England keeper Richard Wright in the first half, but it was Ipswich who led at the interval thanks to a goal from Tom Eastman who followed up to fire the ball home after Green had cleared a shot off the Chairboys' goalline.
Early in the second half, Beavon released Jerome Federico down the right wing and the youngster's cross slipped through Wright's hands and into the path of Kadeem Harris who nodded home the equaliser at the back post.
The Tractor Boys snatched the winner they just about deserved when Lee Martin broke free and slotted the ball past Scott Shearer.
For Wycombe, trialist Simon Cox looked solid at the back, Lewis Montrose was a strong presence in midfield and Jerome Federico's lightning pace caused Ipswich problems all game.
For me though, the pick of the bunch was Stuart Beavon who worked tirelessly up-front and showed some lovely touches on the ball.
