Wycombe sign Tommy Doherty until 2012

Wycombe Wanderers today announced that Tommy Doherty has signed a two-year contract extension which will keep him at the club until summer 2012.

Doherty has been a fans' favourite and has played a crucial role for the Chairboys since first appearing on-loan from QPR in September 2006.

In January 2008 Doherty's signing became permanent.

During his time at Adams Park he has twice been named in the PFA League Two team of the year.

Wycombe manager Peter Taylor spoke to his club's official website about Doherty:

'Since I joined the club a year ago he's been an important player and in my plans he remains a very important player. I'm delighted to say he's agreed to sign for a further two years,' said Taylor.

A quality player. Shame he appears to be running out of the picture at the top of the article!

Well, Colchester were linked with him I remember a couple of months ago due to Paul Lambert. Good player, will be key next season.
