Wycombe washed out of Southwest Challenge Cup

Wycombe Wanderers pre-season schedule suffered a blow today when their Errea Southwest Challenge Cup game with Luton Town was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.

The cancellation means Wycombe are out of the tournament, with Luton going though to the semi-final on goal-difference thanks to their 3-0 victory over Bideford Town on Wednesday evening.

Wycombe could only beat Bideford on penalties last Monday evening, but a victory against Luton would have taken them into the semi-final on Saturday with the chance of an appearance in the final on Sunday.

As it is, instead of playing four games in North Devon, the Chairboys will return home having only taken the field once.
