David McCracken has revealed that he might have stayed at Wycombe Wanderers if manager Peter Taylor had not been prevented from bringing in new players due to the lack of a clear budget for next season.
McCracken, who will face his former team mates next season wearing MK Dons colours, told the Bucks free Press:
'It was a very hard decision to make and possibly if the club (Wycombe) had been able to say who they were signing it would have been different.'
'I know Peter Taylor wanted to build a squad and a team that could compete in League One next season.' said the former Wycombe skipper.
"But he hadn't been able to bring anyone in. He was trying to attract players but didn't have any clarity to do it.'
"It made it very difficult for him and I could see his frustration. He's that type of person that is very ambitious. He's won a few promotions and he wants another one.'
Earlier today it was reported that Taylor will stay with the Chairboys following a meeting with MD Steve Hayes where the budget for next season was finally agreed.
