Pacy Pittman Joins Wycombe Strikeforce
Wycombe Wanderers have today signed Jon-Paul Pittman from Crawley Town for an undisclosed fee.
Pittman is a 22 year old striker who has scored 24 goals in 55 starts for the Blue Square Premier side. Described as having blistering pace, JP's 10 league goals this season have helped Crawley to 7th place in the table, just two points away from a play-off spot.
A former Aston Villa trainee, Pittman had spells with Nottingham Forest, Hartlepool (on loan), Bury (on loan) and Doncaster Rovers before joining Crawley in June 2007.
Pittman has actually appeared at Adams Park before, when he played the full 90 minutes for Bury in the 2006/07 season. Sadly for Jon-Paul, Wycombe ran out 3-0 winners on that occasion thanks to a Jermaine Easter hat-trick.
The 5ft 9ins striker was born in Oklahoma City USA, but does hold British Citizenship.
He has signed a two and a half year contract with the Chairboys.
Speaking to his club's official website, Wycombe manager Peter Taylor thanked Crawley boss Steve Evans for aiding Pittman's career and helping him with the move.
Taylor went on to say: 'I'm excited to have him here, he's a very, very quick player and has had a nice grounding at Villa and Forest. Hopefully this is really going to work out for us.'
