BILL TURNBULL BECOMES VICE-PRESIDENT AND URGES FANS TO 'MAKE THEIR VIEWS COUNT'
The new Wycombe Wanderers Trust is delighted to announce its third, exciting honorary appointment. Following the arrival of Karen Adams as Trust President, BBC news man Bill Turnbull will join Keith Ryan as honorary Vice-President.
In typically eloquent fashion, Bill commented:
"I'm honoured to become Vice-President of the Wycombe Wanderers Trust. I joined originally because, like many others, I wanted to do more to support the Chairboys than just turn up on match days. Being a member gives you a voice in helping to determine the future of WWFC, and the path it should take in what are increasingly challenging times for many clubs."
"There are plenty of issues to be dealt with - the name of the Club`s home (Adams Park, please), and the relationship with our rugby-playing neighbours; not to mention the long-term finances and the sensitive question of where, one day, we might be playing."
"If you're with the Trust you get not just to have a view but to make it count for more. And that, surely, is important for any full-blooded Wycombe supporter." said Bill.
In addition to anchoring the BBC breakfast news and his legendary appearances on Strictly Come Dancing, Bill provides an impassioned commentary on home games for the club's Wanderers World service. He is renowned for his passionate support of the Chairboys.
Trust Chairman Dave McGee welcomed Bill's arrival saying:
"We are delighted that Bill has accepted our invitation to become honorary Vice-President. He's a great bloke and his commentary shows his immense enthusiasm for the Club. And it`s exactly this kind of passion for the Wanderers that we want the Trust to epitomise. We sincerely hope that many more fans will follow Bill's example and join the new Trust."
