McGleish Transfer Listed

Wycombe striker Scott McGleish has today been transfer listed by boss Peter Taylor.

McGleish was Wycombe's top scorer last season with 26 League goals. This season however, he has only started in 8 of the Wanderers 13 League games played so far.

McGleish was clearly unhappy at both being substituted during games and also sometimes only getting a place on the bench.

He was fined by the club in September for throwing down his shirt when taken off against Brentford.

Then, earlier this week, McGleish's threat to hand in a transfer request prompted manager Taylor to leave him out of the squad which travelled to Accrington Stanley.

Now the 34 year old has been told he can leave the club, either on loan or on a permanent deal.

Manager Taylor told the club's official site : ' I had a good meeting with Scott and we felt that it would be in the best interest of both parties that making him available for transfer would be the best thing to do.'

'At this time I can't guarantee him first team football and an experienced striker like himself needs to be playing as regularly as possible.'

Taylor went on to say : 'Despite this I have no doubt that Scott will do everything right while he is still here at the club.'

This is a disappointing end to the affair for Blues fans, who thought highly of McGleish's goal-scoring ability and hoped he would just buckle down and get on with it.

It is however, difficult to have much sympathy for McGleish. It's not as if he was languishing in the reserves. He was involved in most games and could have taken more of a 'team view' of the situation rather than just thinking of himself.

Was never going to take long after he publically bad-mouthed the club. Good player, poor attitude.
