Wycombe Defender Rewarded

Wycombe central defender Mike Williamson's superb performance in Saturday's match against Dagenham, has been recognised by the Football League.

Williamson has rightly been selected in the League-Two team of the week.

Wycombe found themselves down to ten men after only 22 minutes of the match, following the dismissal of striker Simon Church.

Not only was Williamson instrumental in restricting the visitors to only one goal, but he popped up at the other end with two great headed goals of his own.

Williamson's display was just the latest in a string of excellent performances by the defender, who appears to have put last season's injury problems behind him.

The match ended 2-1 to the Wanderers.
