Sutton Goes To Motherwell
As had been expected John Sutton has left Wycombe, returning to the Scottish Premier League to sign for Motherwell.
Wycombe manager Peter Taylor had told him he wasn't in his plans so Motherwell moved to take him back to Scotland, signing him on a free transfer on a three-year contract much to Sutton's delight: 'I am looking forward to getting back playing in the SPL,' Sutton told the official Motherwell website. 'I've always enjoyed my spells in Scotland and have usually done not too bad. The teams I've played with have always tried to play good football and Motherwell are no different. The SPL is a great league with every week being a real test.
'Europe is also massive for us - as I understand it, if we win one tie we'll be in the group stages and could play against some massive clubs so I am really looking forward to that.
'I want to come here, score goals, and help us get there again.'
The 24-year-old hasn't enjoyed the kind of success in England that he has previously in Scotland, so he will be looking to get back to his best.
Do you think that letting John Sutton go was the right thing for Wycombe to have done?
